A highly trained and credentialed plastic surgeon, Dr. Mark Venturi earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he studied both biology and theology. Dr. Venturi then continued on to medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, an award given to only the top performers in U.S. medical schools. Dr. Venturi was then selected to enter the integrated plastic surgery training program at Georgetown University Medical Center where he received numerous achievement awards including Resident Teacher of the Year and Chief Resident.
Following his residency, Dr. Mark Venturi continued his training at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, a highly ranked center for cancer care, where he completed a fellowship in Microvascular Surgery. The fellowship gave Dr. Venturi an opportunity to master the latest techniques in breast reconstruction and other restorative surgeries.
Dr. Venturi has earned a reputation as an expert in the field of cosmetic surgery and one of Washington, DC’s most prominent plastic surgeons, publishing multiple articles in professional plastic surgery journals, authoring numerous book chapters, and presenting papers and presentations at meetings of plastic surgery professionals nationally and internationally. Since 2006, Dr. Venturi has been invited annually to train other plastic surgeons at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons annual meeting.

At Sloan Kettering, Dr. Mesbahi gained expertise in treating cancer patients facing a wide range of surgical challenges. He now performs state of the art breast reconstruction including implant reconstructions and microvascular tissue transfers such as the DIEP flap.
